Why getting married in Denmark is so quick?

It is important to decide first whether you would like to use a marriage agency such as ours or apply on your own to the Agency of Law in Denmark. A marriage agency such as ours, MarryinDenmark.com is an excellent option, if you are in a hurry and wish to avoid delays. You can get married in Denmark relatively quickly once you make the decision. You can get married within ten days of making the decision.

Here is how the fast-tracked process should go to get married in Denmark.

Step 1:

We encourage you to schedule a free consultation with Alina from MarryinDenmark.com so that you can understand the process better and we may be able to answer any questions you may have related to your individual circumstances.

Step 2:

We will send you a list of preliminary documents that you will need to put together

Step 3:

We will help you put together the document list (for most marriages you will need a very brief and basic list of documents, although in some cases you may need some additional documents. We will assist you with this).

Step 4:

We will take care of arranging, preparing and submitting your application to the Agency for Family Law on your behalf. In most cases, this documentation needs to be thoroughly reviewed and corrected so that it does not delay the application process.

Step 5.

All new applications for marriage in Denmark must be responded to by the Agency for Family Law within five working days, and we will continue to handle all communication from the Agency for Family Law regarding your application until it has been approved.

Step 6.

After that, we will book the town hall where you would like to have the ceremony.

Step 7:

Our team will advise you about travel and stay arrangements in Denmark as well as answer any questions you may have concerning your wedding planning in Denmark.

Step 8:

Your documents will need to be presented in the town hall when you arrive in Denmark for your wedding ceremony. Typically, the ceremony lasts under ten minutes and is fairly quick. Depending upon which language you have requested the ceremony to be held in, the registrar will speak a few words in either English, German, or Danish. The two of you, along with your witnesses, will then sign all the required documents. There is no problem if you do not have witnesses. Most town halls can provide witnesses without charging for these services.

Following the ceremony, two copies of your International Wedding Certificate will be provided to you and to your spouse free of charge. In the event that you’ve chosen our Apostille Service to legalize your marriage certificates for use in other countries, you’ll need to leave one or both copies with us.

We will return your legalized certificates to you by UPS tracked delivery once they have been legalized. From the time we receive your certificates, the whole process takes just seven to ten business days.

In contrast to other countries, there is no time-consuming bureaucracy when getting married in Denmark. Overall, it is the most convenient, especially for non-European expats and international couples living in the EU. Ideally, all necessary documents can

be sent by e-mail or fax in copies. In doing so, you will save both money and time, as you will not need to travel to your home country to collect certificates and then mail them to the Danish municipality of your choice.

If you would like to expedite the process and obtain your marriage certificate, the expressway, we strongly recommend getting married in Denmark.
